Blue Skies has been helping to take care
of my parents for over 3 years in
residence where they visit with them for
about 10 hours a week. Kristen has been
very gentle and responsive to my
parents. She brings in snacks they love,
as well as special products they need.
She has made hand sewn pillows and
bags to carry their items in their walkers.
She makes up word games that engage
my parents, as well as other residents, in
the games and activities that are both
fun and stimulating. These activities also
help them to feel connected to their
fellow residents and helps them to
develop a sense of belonging with their
community. She goes over and above the
call of duty. She writes reminders of their
daily activities, and how to do things on
laminated charts that are large and easy
to read. She is a very creative and
thoughtful person and makes a special
effort to know each of her clients. She is
able to work with various personalities
and sees her job as all the little things,
but she also advocates for her clients as
if they were her own family members.
She thinks about the individual needs of
each person and brings her sense of
humour to her interactions. My parents
enjoy her company and always look
forward to spending time with her. We
love having her on our team!

At 103 years young, I have a number of
mobility issues that Kristen at Blue Skies
has been helping me with. It always
happens that my phone is out of reach
when it rings or when I need to make a
call. When preparing for bed my side
table often gets moved, which can make
it almost impossible to turn on or off my
reading lamp once I have tucked in for
the night. Also when checking the time,
setting an alarm, or just finding some
pleasant music to fall asleep to can be a
challenge with my stiff arms and hands.
Thanks to Blue Skies, I now have an
Alexa helper in my room that allows me
to just ask for the help that I need.

It’s the little things in life that really
count. One day I met a man with a
walker. On his walker he had a booklet
that was just the right size with just the
right information to help him with his
daily tasks. I am forever grateful that I
started asking around as to who had
made this fabulous booklet.
This little booklet led me to a beautiful
person who operates Blue Skies and
thankfully was available to take my
parents on as clients.
Kristen and her team have been a
godsend to me and my family. My
parents view Kristen as a friend that
comes in and just really makes their day.
There is laughter, joy and great
conversation. They know just what and
how to say things to get good responses.
As my mom would say. “We are lucky to
have her”. During the pandemic Blue
Skies had been my eyes and ears inside
the home. The team have fantastic
communication with you about your
loved ones. Video chats, photos and
regular updates on their well being or
suggestions about what would make it
easier for them. The team are like
guardian angels. They always seem to
be there just when you need them most.

care to my 100 year-old father for over a
year. In that time, all of the staff have
gone above and beyond to support dad
in a stimulating, caring and fun way. They
are knowledgeable about seniors’ needs,
both physically and mentally. The staff
members have also been a wonderful
support to other family members, as we
deal with the multitude of issues that
arise when caring for a frail, elderly family
